MASSAGE Q&A
Q: Are there different types of massage?
A: Yes, massage can range from a relaxing Swedish massage, to a deep tissue massage which works beyond the top layers and may involve a bit of 'toughness' on your behalf. In between is the therapeutic massage which combines the two if you're not dealing with any injuries but more tension and stiffness.
Q: Should I go for massage if I am receiving chiropractic treatments?
A: Muscle is mechanically responsible for movement as it attaches to bone. Massage can make the chiropractor's job easier by releasing tension in the muscle surrounding the area requiring adjustment. Massage can also prolong and magnify the positive effects of a treatment by increasing circulation to the area. Use massage right before, or even after, chiropractic treatments as a complimentary therapy!
Q: I am active in sports and physically fit. How can I benefit from massage?
A: Massage can help release LACTIC ACID which is caused by lack of sufficient oxygen to the muscles, causing them to burn glucose and carbohydrates resulting in muscle soreness and stiffness. Massage therapy also reduces chance of injury by stretching muscle tissue, reducing tension and increasing flexability.
Q: Is massage safe for me and my baby if I'm pregnant?
A: Absolutely! Baby can put a lot of strain on mom's body causing sore backs, hips, legs, feet and shoulders. Once you are in a comfortable position on the table you can relax into our therapists skilled hands.
