Dr. Ellen Huang, TCMD, Acupuncturist

Dr. Ellen Huang is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Registered Acupuncturist. Dr.
Ellen uses acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine to assist women in
making their pregnancy and post natal time as healthy, comfortable and
joyful as possible. As the mother of a toddler, she knows how
important it is to support women through all of the stages of this
amazing transition. Ellen has a particular passion for women's health, her treatments
include dietary, lifestyle, herbal, and supplement recommendations to
holistically help her clients to create freedom of Body, Mind and
Spirit. Pregnancy is a time of many adjustments and changes in
a woman's body, and traditional Chinese medicine can help mothers move
more easily through these changes. Some of the more common complaints
that Ellen treats are lower back pain, sciatica, morning sickness,
carpal tunnel, colds/flus, hemorrhoids, constipation, rashes, and
turning breech babies. Chinese herbs and acupuncture can also be
essential in the recovery of postpartum depression and exhaustion. It
also facilitates with the induction of labor. Ellen provides whole body health care in an environment that is warm, comfortable, and professional. Her intention as a health practitioner is to aid her clients towards a greater awareness of what health means for them. It is her hope that through education, an open mind, and a supportive environment, every client will find new growth in his or her life. Ellen holds a Bachelor's degree from Providence University in Taichung,Taipei. To further pursue her interest of healing in other cultures, she traveled to Canada, China, Nepal, and Bangladesh to study traditional Chinese medicine. She then went on to continue her studies at the Alberta college of Acupuncture and TCM in Calgary, Alberta, the oldest and one of the most progressive acupuncture schools in Alberta. Ellen received her certificate of clinical practice in Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from WHO (World Health Organization) Acupuncture Training Center in Bejing, China, in 2006. In addition, she completed her certificate of clinical Acupuncture and Massage Therapy from the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology. She became a registered acupuncturist in Alberta and British Columbia after she returned from China.
